Women's Small Group Network + Connect Series

For the first time, we're offering a series of small group networking meetings so that you can build your confidence, connections and relationships with other local women in business over time. We’ll get to know each other deeply and support each other’s businesses, ideas, and dreams through the ‘small group networking’ format that we've used - with a lot of success - over the last two years. Lead by Allison Stewart Bishins of Allison Bishins Consulting, we are so thankful for Align Catalyst, our venue sponsor.

SCHEDULE:
Jan 30, 6-8pm (Meeting #1)
Feb 20, 6-8pm (Meeting #2)
March 13, 6-8pm (Meeting #3)
March 20, 6-9pm (Celebration)

Meeting 1: Receive group assignments. Introduce yourself and your business to the whole group. In your small groups, identify current challenges and brainstorm solutions. Group leaders will take a few notes on topics that keep coming up. Light snacks.

Meetings 2 & 3: Dive into a topic chosen from issues raised in Meeting 1, with an intro and prompt from Allison. Continue brainstorming and connecting. Light snacks.

Meeting 4: Badass Ladies Party! Each series member will bring two women from the community that they admire, or want to meet, or think should connect with someone in the group. (Or your rad friends - but I encourage you to think outside your normal acquaintances!) These two tickets are included in your overall series cost. Additional tickets will be available to local women at a small cost. Light appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks provided.

MORE DETAILS:

This series is limited to 24 self-identifying women. No childcare is provided. Please make sure you can attend at least Meetings 1-3 (preferably all dates) before purchasing the series. You cannot purchase a ticket to a single meeting. There are no refunds if you do not/cannot attend individual sessions. If you have an emergency before the series starts and I can fill your space, you will get a refund minus a 20% administrative fee.

Would you like to be a group leader? Group leaders make sure that each group member has ample time to talk, moves the conversation along, and makes notes on topics raised, to help me formulate future topics. This is a great chance to exercise your leadership, time management, and facilitation skills! Group leaders should plan to arrive 15 min early each month to touch base and help set up. Group leaders receive a 50% refund at the end of the completed series. How many group leaders I need depends on overall number of attendees - feel free to email me allisonbishins@gmail.com to check in.

Frientimacy BookCircle

"With the constant connectivity of today’s world, it’s never been easier to meet people and make new friends—but it’s never been harder to form meaningful friendships. ... Frientimacy is more than just a call for deeper connection between friends, it's a blueprint for turning simple friendships into true bonds - and for the meaningful and satisfying relationships that come with them"

In Frientimacy, speaker and author Shasta Nelson shows how anyone can form stronger, more meaningful friendships, marked by a level of trust she calls “frientimacy”. The book explores the most common complaints and conflicts facing female friendships today, and lays out strategies for overcoming these pitfalls to create deeper, supportive relationships that last for the long-term.

In this 4 week BookCircle, we will be doing a deep-dive into the topic of Frientimacy to really support ourselves and each other in developing meaningful friendships in our lives! For everyone to get the most out of the experience, please plan ahead so you can commit to attending at least 3 of our 4 weekly discussion circles in March.

We will plan to discuss chapters 1-2 for our first session on Wednesday, March 6th, so if at all possible read at least that far in the book by then! The tentative plan is to then discuss chapters 3-7 week 2, chapters 5-10 week 3 and chapters 11-13 week 4.

I left location as TBD for now, but wanted to get this out and on everyone's calendar before a weekend out of town. I can potentially host at my house (N 6th and Cushman) or maybe at Brilliant Life Chiropractic (708 Broadway). If anyone has other location ideas or has a house they would love to host us at, please message me and let me know! I will confirm location in next couple of weeks! I really look forward to going on this Frientimacy journey with all of you :-) .

Coffee + Conversation

At the first C + C we will be exploring conversations and tools around Shedding the Imposter Syndrome.

How do we accept our own legitimacy in the workplace, while starting a new business, or even at home and in our friendships?

When we are not supported professionally or constantly questioned or asked to prove our legitimacy it is easy to lose our self confidence and begin to feel like an imposter.

Coffee and Conversation is the space in which we can explore how these subtle and underlying feelings of being a fraud, or constantly having to prove our abilities, affect us in our lives and the tools that we can utilize to ultimately shed the imposter syndrome and embrace our power.

If you identify as a Womxn of Color (this space also welcomes non-binary and trans people) and are looking for a community in which you can share your authentic voice while also cultivating your own skills as a professional, entrepreneur, academic or individual, this is for you.

Please join TWCC in creating conversation about OUR experiences.

We look forward to seeing you all there! I encourage you to bring 1 or 2 WoC friends as well, the more the merrier.

*Feel free to bring business cards.
**Dont forget to please spend $15 minimum to support our local PoC owned business.

We've brought this course back by popular demand! This is an interactive course so you can ask questions and get targeted advice!
